A DIILS team recently traveled to Ecuador to meet with members of their military as part of an ongoing security cooperation program.

Congratulations to ISG Africa Regional Program Lead Dr. Whitney Grespin for her significant contribution to the recently published book, Sandhurst Trends in International Conflict: Women, Peace and Security in Military Operations, edited by Andree-Anne Melancon and Max Thompson (Howgate Publishing). Dr. Grespin authored Chapter 6: Enhancing Operational Effectiveness Through an Analysis of the Women, Peace, and Security Environment in Djibouti.

The United States takes an active role in safeguarding its maritime domain as well as maintaining a high level of preparedness within the maritime community around the globe. Two years ago, the Institute for Security Governance (ISG) began supporting the Dominican Republic (DR) by working with its Navy to increase its maritime readiness. The goal of this partnership is to advance U.S. national security and policy objectives by advancing Dominican institutional capabilities. As the Department of Defense’s leading implementer for Institutional Capacity Building (ICB), the Institute strives to improve security sector governance and core management competencies needed to effectively achieve shared security objectives.

Recently, a DIILS team traveled to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) to meet with various stakeholders on an ongoing maritime security cooperation effort.

DSCU’s Institute for Security Governance, in cooperation with U.S. European Command, recently conducted a Scoping Workshop in Skopje, North Macedonia.

This event brought together over twenty national institutions and agencies to explore North Macedonia’s resilience capacity in support of NATO collective defense. This event kicks off a multi-year Institutional Capacity Building initiative focused on enhancing national crisis management, Host Nation Support, critical infrastructure, and other capabilities in support of NATO operations.

A DIILS team recently traveled to Varna, Bulgaria to conduct a three-day human rights and law of armed conflict executive seminar at the Bulgarian Naval Academy with senior leaders from the Bulgarian Navy. Supporting team members included judge advocates from the Tennessee National Guard and the Center for Law and Military Operations.
