DSCU Georgia Team Receives 2024 Secretary of Defense Maintenance Award
October 1, 2024
The Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) Ministry of Defense Advisor team in Tbilisi, Georgia, has been awarded the 2024 Secretary of Defense Maintenance Award for Sustainment Training, Advice, and Assistance of Foreign Military Forces in the Ministerial category. This recognition comes with robust support from the Institute for Security Governance’s (ISG) Regional Advising Team.
The annual Secretary of Defense Maintenance Awards honor the Department of Defense’s most outstanding military support teams from a highly competitive field of candidates.
Over the past six years, ISG's collaborative efforts with Jordan, Colombia, and Ukraine have garnered recognition with the prestigious U.S. Secretary of Defense Award on four previous occasions in the same category. Additionally, in 2023, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit Award to Headquarters, United States Central Command, and select subordinate units for exceptionally meritorious service. Eight ISG Resident Advisors (MoDAs), deployed in the region at the time, were cited for their contributions to this esteemed recognition.
