AME-150 Foundations of Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation
AME 150, Foundations of Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation introduces participants to the essential principles and practices of Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation (AM&E) in security cooperation initiatives. Designed for security cooperation professionals without prior AM&E experience, the course introduces participants to results-driven practices to design, track, and evaluate security cooperation programs with evidence-based methodologies.
In this 2-hour computer-based training, participants will also gain familiarity with the Lessons Learned processes that transform AM&E insights into institutionalized best practices and systemic improvements across the security cooperation enterprise. The course emphasizes practical application of AM&E principles to real-world security cooperation challenges, enabling participants to move beyond assumptions to evidence-based decision-making that enhances mission success and strategic outcomes. Upon completion, participants will possess the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to implement comprehensive AM&E frameworks that demonstrate clear linkages between security cooperation activities and strategic objectives, build sustainable partner capacity, and contribute meaningfully to broader security goals through continuous learning and improvement.
At the end of the course, students will need to achieve an 80% or better on the final assessment to receive their certificate of completion. In addition, participants are also asked to complete the course evaluation at the end of the course to provide valuable feedback on course design, content, and instruction.
