WPS Professional Military Education Academic Workshop

DSCU led a Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Professional Military Education Academic workshop on 26 and 27 September, 2022. The event gathered WPS academics and professionals to discuss practical and practiced implementation approaches. WPS centered papers were presented by their authors, which sparked thoughtful and impactful discussions focused on practitioner perspectives, solutions and a way forward.

Dr. Celeste Gventer, DSCU president, opened the conference and welcomed the participants. Congressman Mike Waltz, co-chair, U.S. House of Representatives Women Peace and Security Caucus, joined the conference virtually to address the group and discuss what action congress wants to see in the WPS space as well as his support for these professionals. The conference was led and organized by Dr. Susan Yoshihara and her team of WPS researchers and lecturers, Dr. Grace Hoffman, Dr. Rabia Zafar and Ms. Cameron Quinn, J.D.
